Your logo on the video, and no one else's
MarkDrift adds your logo to a video for free and adds no logo of its own. A lot of "free" video editors will happily put your logo on a clip and then stamp their own logo next to it unless you pay. This one doesn't. The tool above opens with "Logo" selected and the "Corner" style set to the bottom right, which is the classic spot for a brand mark. You choose your logo file, check the preview, and download a video whose only logo is yours.
It all runs in your browser, so your footage and your logo stay on your device. There's no account and nothing to pay for.
How to add a logo to a video
- Click "Choose videos or photos" and pick your video, or drop it on the page.
- In "Your watermark", "Logo" is already selected. Click "Choose your logo" and pick the file. PNG, SVG, WebP and JPG all work, and a PNG with a see-through background looks cleanest. The tool remembers your logo for next time.
- Tick "Make it white" if your logo is dark or colourful. A white logo stays visible on most footage, and it's the usual look for a video bug.
- In "Style", "Corner" is selected. Use the grid of nine spots to move the logo, or just click the preview where you want it.
- In "Size and strength", Small or Medium is usually right for a logo. Bring "How visible" down to around half if you want the soft, see-through look that TV channels use.
- Open "More options" for "Distance from edge", which pulls the logo in from the border, and "Angle" if you want it tilted.
- Click "Add watermark and download". The file saves as an MP4 with "-watermarked" in the name.
Getting a logo file that looks good on video
Most logo trouble comes from the file, not the tool. A JPG logo always has a solid box around it, usually white, because JPG can't store transparency. If that's all you have, "Make it white" won't help, since the whole box turns white. Ask whoever made your logo for a PNG or SVG with a transparent background. Most designers export one in a minute.
Keep the logo simple. A full logo with a small tagline underneath turns to mush at video size, especially on a phone screen. The icon on its own, or the name in your brand font, reads better. And because the mark is sized against the short side of the frame, the same setting looks the same on a vertical Reel and a landscape YouTube video.
Where you put it matters on short-video apps. On TikTok, Reels and Shorts, the bottom of the frame is where the apps put the caption, the account name and the buttons, and the like and share buttons run up the right side. A logo in the bottom right is on the file but often hidden in the app. A spot a little way in from the edges, above the bottom third, stays visible more often. Our safe zone guide has the details for each app.
When a corner logo is right, and when it's not enough
A corner logo is right for branding. Client videos, ads, a company explainer, a podcast clip: anywhere you want people to know who made it, without the mark getting in the way of the content.
It's not much use as protection. Anyone who wants your video can crop a corner off in seconds, and on vertical video they barely lose anything. If you're watermarking because people keep reposting your clips, switch "Style" to "Moving" or "Jumping". Your logo works in every style. The moving watermark page explains the options, and how to stop people reposting your videos covers what else helps.
Logo questions
Is this really free without a watermark?
Yes. We never add a MarkDrift or UptoSolve mark to your video, on any setting. There are no credits, no trial and no sign-up. The tool is open source under the MIT licence at github.com/uptosolve/markdrift.
Do my video and logo get uploaded?
No. Both stay on your device. Your browser draws the logo onto every frame and saves the new file locally. The logo is kept in your browser so it's ready next time, and it isn't sent anywhere.
My logo has a white box around it. How do I fix that?
That box is part of the image file, usually because it's a JPG. Use a PNG or SVG with a transparent background instead. Once the background is transparent, "Make it white" can turn the logo itself white.
Will adding a logo reduce my video quality?
The video is re-encoded so the logo becomes part of the picture. The default, "Keep original quality", keeps the file size close to your original. You'll find it under "Video quality" in "More options".
Can I put the same logo on lots of videos?
Yes. Add as many videos as you like and the same logo and position go on all of them. Chrome and Edge save them into one folder you pick. See batch watermarking.
Which browsers and devices work?
Chrome and Edge 94+, Safari 17+, and Firefox 130+ on desktop. It is built to run on phones too, but so far it has been tested on desktop browsers only, and phones are slower, so start with short clips.
